NHL Reveals Stunning Retro Jerseys for Canadiens and Jets Heritage Classic Showdown

The Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets are set to debut nostalgic new uniforms at the 2026 Heritage Classic event at Princess Auto Stadium. The NHL, in partnership with Fanatics, recently revealed the revamped jerseys that pay homage to the teams’ iconic past.

For the upcoming event on October 25, where the Winnipeg Blue Bombers usually play, the Jets will be embracing their classic 1980s and ’90s look, including the original sweater and logo donned during their early NHL years. On the other hand, the Canadiens are keeping their traditional red and blue color scheme but have opted for an off-white hue to add a vintage touch. The Canadiens’ jersey showcases historical elements like “Les Habitants” on the collar and a Fleur-de-lis on the loop label. The famous Habs logo has been subtly redesigned to reflect the team’s heritage, with intricate stitching for a more detailed appearance.

The 2026 Heritage Classic marks the eighth edition of this NHL tradition, with its roots tracing back to the 2003 season when the Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers faced off at Commonwealth Stadium. Notably, the previous Heritage Classic in 2023 took place at the same venue, featuring a matchup between the Oilers and Flames on the Edmonton Elks’ home field.
