An individual went on a spree smashing car windows at Brentwood Mall on Monday, as reported by the Burnaby RCMP.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to calls from witnesses regarding the window breakages in the parkade. A total of 16 vehicles fell victim to the vandalism.
Despite receiving a detailed description of the suspect from witnesses, both the RCMP and Brentwood Security were unable to locate the individual as he had already fled the scene before their arrival.
While authorities have obtained CCTV footage of the area, they are also urging anyone with dashcam footage from the parkade to come forward.
At present, the police have chosen not to disclose images of the suspect but may consider doing so in the future.
Cpl. Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP stated, “We will first seek to identify the suspect internally, utilizing local and provincial resources.”
