Canadiens Strike Deal, Trade Jayden Struble to Predators for Coveted Second-Round Pick

Jayden Struble Heads to Nashville Predators in Trade Deal

Montreal Canadiens have made a significant move by trading defenceman Jayden Struble to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick, as confirmed by both teams on Friday.

At 25 years old, Struble has played in three games this season for the Canadiens, although he has yet to score any points, maintaining an average playing time of 12:05 minutes per game.

Interestingly, despite the recent trade, Struble did not participate in the Canadiens’ game against the Predators on Thursday.

Previously, Struble secured a two-year contract extension worth $2.825 million ($1.4125 million AAV) with Montreal until the end of the 2026-27 season, following successful arbitration negotiations.

Originally hailing from Cumberland, R.I., Struble was drafted by the Canadiens in the second round of the 2019 draft. During his time with Montreal, he has played in 174 games, scoring seven goals and achieving 35 points while averaging 14:58 minutes of play per game.
