“Vaughan Business Under Siege: Shocking Video Exposes Suspect in Arson and Shooting Spree”

York Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect linked to both an attempted arson and a shooting at a business in Vaughan.

The incidents took place at a commercial property near Islington Avenue and Kellam Street in April.

On April 18 around 9:45 a.m., employees arriving for work noticed a gasoline smell and alerted the police. Despite no fire or injuries, surveillance footage revealed a lone suspect approaching the building, pouring a liquid outside, and damaging windows before escaping.

Four days later on April 22 at approximately 5:40 a.m., gunshots were reported at the same business. Police found gunfire damage and a broken glass door, but no injuries. Surveillance footage showed the suspect firing shots, entering the building with a container, starting a small fire, and then fleeing.

The suspect, described as a Black man approximately 40 years old, wore distinct clothing during each incident. A black minivan with tinted windows seen during both events is linked to the investigation.

York Regional Police urge anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward.
