A man has been apprehended by Toronto authorities in connection with an alleged violent incident that occurred in the Leslieville neighborhood at the end of last month. The incident unfolded near Queen Street and Pape Avenue on July 27, prompting a response from law enforcement around 9 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had sustained serious yet non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to a medical facility for care. Investigators have revealed that the accused individual, 78-year-old Jian Liu hailing from Toronto, and the victim have a pre-existing relationship. Liu was taken into custody on August 2 and has been formally charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. His court appearance was set for August 3.
