“Urgent Recall Alert: PK Brand Peanuts Pulled from Shelves in Quebec and Ontario Over Health Risks”

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for lemon and chili roasted peanuts sold under the PK brand in Quebec and Ontario.

This recall, announced on Thursday, urges consumers to either dispose of the product or return it to the store where it was purchased.

It’s important to note that contaminated food with Salmonella bacteria may not exhibit any visible signs of spoilage or unusual smell, yet it can still cause illness.

The CFIA emphasizes that vulnerable groups such as young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of developing severe or even life-threatening infections. Even for healthy individuals, Salmonella poisoning can lead to symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

While no illness cases linked to this product have been reported, the agency is taking precautions to ensure public safety.
