A technical issue has disrupted several non-emergency phone lines at the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) since Sunday evening. The affected numbers include *4141 and 310-4141 in certain areas, according to a statement by SQ.
Despite this setback, SQ reassured the public that police services are operating normally. The agency has implemented contingency plans and is working with partners to resolve the issue promptly.
This recent disruption follows a similar phone outage on September 17, although SQ has stated that the two incidents are not connected.
In case of emergencies, individuals should dial 911 for immediate police assistance. For all other inquiries, the public is advised to reach out to their local police stations.
