RCMP Unearth Long-Lost Vehicle Linked to 2004 Cold Case Mystery

Creston RCMP have made a significant discovery in the case of George Franklin Davis, who went missing from the Creston area in July 2004. After over 20 years of searching, a volunteer dive team assisting Davis’s family found a submerged vehicle in the Kootenay River near the “Old Ferry Landing.” Human remains were found inside the vehicle, prompting the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team to retrieve it on Sept. 28. The vehicle’s description and license plate match Davis’s details, leading investigators to believe it is connected to his disappearance. While formal confirmation is pending forensic analysis by the BC Coroners Service, investigators have ruled out foul play in Davis’s death. The investigation continues as forensic testing progresses.
