A fire erupted in an industrial area of Longueuil on Sunday evening, engulfing several warehouses on Jean-Désy Street. The intense flames led firefighters to sound a third alarm and caused power outages in the vicinity. Tragically, amidst the chaos, a charred body was discovered by the responding firefighters. The victim’s identity remains unknown pending further medical examinations.
Constable Jacqueline Pierre from the Longueuil Police (SPAL) confirmed that this was the sole victim of the incident as of now. Authorities have not yet identified any witnesses or suspects related to the case by Monday morning.
SPAL investigators are set to conduct a thorough examination at the scene on Monday in an effort to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
