With only a few days left in the parliamentary session, French Language Minister Jean-François Roberge tabled his bill on Thursday to extend the application of Bill 101 to vocational training and adult education.
The four-page legislative document stipulates that it “imposes this requirement on school service centres and private educational institutions accredited for the purpose of subsidies relating to educational services that are the subject of accreditation.”

Those “entitled” will be exempt from the new law.
Premier Christine Fréchette had promised to act in this direction in the CAQ leadership race.
Minister Roberge has already stated that this measure would transfer 27,000 students from the English-language network to the French-language network.
It remains to be seen whether the bill can be adopted; the legislative agenda is already extremely full and the session ends on June 12.
