In the early hours of the morning, a male victim was severely injured in a shooting incident that involved three individuals being arrested in Mississauga. The unsettling event drew immediate responses from authorities including the Toronto police, Peel police, and Ontario’s police watchdog.
At approximately 12:22 a.m. on Thursday, officers were conducting an investigation in the vicinity of Council Ring Road and The Collegeway near Winston Churchill Boulevard when the shooting took place.
The victim, a male, sustained life-threatening injuries and was swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical care. Meanwhile, three suspects were apprehended at the scene, with another male being taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that all involved suspects are now in custody, ensuring that there are no outstanding suspects at large and that the situation is under control.
During the incident, a Toronto police officer also suffered minor injuries in a collision related to the shooting. Further details regarding the circumstances of the crash and its connection to the shooting have not yet been disclosed.
Peel police have maintained a strong presence in the area, keeping the neighborhood closed off for an extended period as investigations continue.
