A 14-year-old boy riding his bike was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup truck driver in Whitby. The incident took place near Garden Street and Manning Road just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).
The teenager was biking southbound in the crosswalk when the pickup truck driver, a 40-year-old woman, made a right turn and hit him. The boy was taken to a trauma center in Toronto with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene following the accident.
