Toronto authorities have revealed the identity of the female victim in a tragic double shooting incident that claimed the lives of a man and woman in Scarborough.
The incident unfolded at Providence Healthcare on St. Clair Avenue East close to Warden Avenue, following a distressing report of a shooting just past 12:30 p.m.
Both a man and a woman in their 70s were discovered with gunshot injuries and tragically pronounced deceased at the location. The shooting transpired outside the healthcare facility, where the woman was a patient during the tragic event, with indications suggesting that they were a married couple.
The victim has been identified as 72-year-old Karen Swatogor from Toronto, while the man’s identity has not been disclosed as of yet.
Authorities have stated that no additional suspects are being pursued in connection with the incident.
Regrettably, this marks the 26th homicide in Toronto for the year 2026.
