Longueuil Cops Nab Suspect in Brazen Mail Theft Attempt

Longueuil Police Thank Public for Help in Identifying Mailbox Thief

Thanks to the assistance of the public, Longueuil police have successfully identified the individual suspected of improperly searching through mailboxes in the Saint-Hubert borough on March 30. The man, who was reportedly wearing a bright fluorescent yellow safety vest and carrying a stack of flyers, appeared to be impersonating a mail delivery worker as he strolled along Raoul Avenue and was observed peeking into mailboxes.

Residents managed to retrieve their mail from the suspect at the time; however, a subsequent probe unveiled that the stolen mail contained sensitive information, including personal identification numbers (PINs) tied to TD Bank credit cards.

In an update shared on social media on Wednesday, the Longueuil police confirmed the identification of the man and assured the public that the investigation is ongoing.
